Who is Furries For Kids?

The cuddly animals of Furries For Kids regularly visit half-, full- and social orphans in Austria’s and Germany’s children’s villages and homes, as well as seriously ill children in their living environment, under the motto “MAKING FRIENDSHIP TANGIBLE”. There, in the context of an imaginative world, they establish a very special connection with the children, create the space for friendship, closeness and trust, and thus support the therapeutic measures on site.

What projects are you currently pursuing?

Our biggest concern/project at the moment is to be able to carry out our therapy, accompanying work under safe conditions and to make this possible with all the necessary means.

How has Covid-19 affected the children in the children’s villages you visit?

For a long time we were not allowed to visit the children personally – neither in children’s villages, nor (and especially) seriously ill children at home. In the meantime, it is possible for us again, but under strict safety precautions and always depending on the health condition of all children as well as our volunteers.

Do you have a special project or event planned for Christmas 2021?

Our annual Christmas benefit event at the G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf (this year on November 20, 2021) has become a tradition. Here, all proceeds (donations, raffle) benefit the children in the children’s villages we support in the form of Christmas gifts.

How can you be helped the most right now and are you looking for volunteers?

We are most helped by donations of time and money. We are always looking for volunteers who would like to make a medium to long term commitment to children.
